Allison To Lillia Catch-up Extravaganza

What?
Who is this guy writing this post? What is this show, is it still on? Holy crap! Over here in real-world-land, it’s off the charts. But I’ll spare you the gory details, because you didn’t come here for excuses! You came here for panty-shots and exploding heads, right?
Well, tough shit, because this is Allison & Lillia!
I give myself the challenge of writing 3 sentences about each missed episode, hoping that you good people will forgive me. I realize also that I call you “you good people” now, where a few weeks ago it was “you ungrateful curs.” Such is life. But don’t worry, I’m not crying. It’s just the fickle way of fate, whose mercurial winds have blown the dust of backlogged anime into my eyes. Ow!

Episode 7:
- She’s not Francesca.
- Plane race through the town!
- Benedict is a player with an eye for a grand entrance.
Episode 8:
- OK, yeah, I’m not her, but I’m her twin sister, I swear.
- You killed my sister — prepare to die.
- Why exactly did Nihito fall off the roof when he was standing so far from the edge?
Episode 9:
- Name me one freaking episode of this show where the characters didn’t sit and drink tea around a table.
- Glasses: the only disguise you’ll need.
- Allison in a fancy dress but still wearing army boots may be the remaining reason I watch this show; I know it must fulfill at least one of Shin’s many fetishes.
- Bonus: Shotguns do not use bullets.

Also: Wil is a big dumb poopyhead, and Allison is fast becoming too cool for her own ever-slipping series. I tagged this post with “guns,” “trains,” and “airplanes,” and yet nothing really exciting happened in any of these episodes.

YES! I thought I was the only one who realized that they drink tea in nearly every episode! Kudos to you brother! >=D

Ugh.. I’m almost glad that Aniyoshi hasn’t subbed an ep in a while, the series has been getting increasingly BORING AS SIN as of late…
On a good day, Allison fulfills about 5 fetishes (*´Д`)ハァハァ Good to know at least the three of us have dropped this show yet, despite the erratic release schedules ): I reckon this train arc will be a huge improvement over the snorefest that was Fi’s introduction episodes.

I wonder whether Allison to Lillia gives off the same vibes as Nijuu mensou no musume? I’ll jump into the wagon to catch it if it’s detective work filled with adventures.

LOL Hynavian, do the pics make it look like Murder on The Orient Express? (Well, any excuse to get people to watch this show XD)
This is not good, even the people who continue with this show are starting to see the lowlights of it… Oh well, I’ll be the 4th (usually I’d say billionth, but considering that the running joke with A&L is that nobody watches it anymore) person to say that everything the show lacks, Allison makes up for in bootloads

@Ez I reckon it’s got something to do with the adaptation. I usually hate voiceovers, but if it replaced just 30 seconds of tea-drinking, I think I could handle some narrator exposition.
@Shin and Randor The Ikstova arc was inexcusably boring, especially when it could have gone well had it been executed a little better. This storyline needs to take off right away and involve one of those fights on top of a train, or something …
@Hynavian and issa-sa Don’t laugh too much, I think it does give off similar vibes.
They’re both retro adventure stories that don’t cater to current anime trends. They both use an early-20th-century motif. And they both (unfortunately) seem to be animated by their respective studios’ “B” teams while the “starters” work on more glamorous stuff (Soul Eater and Kaiba).
They’re still pretty different though: While A&L isn’t real action-packed, it gets by on a lot of personality (usually in the form of Allison) that 20 Faces, even Chiko, lacks. But that “B” team from Bones has really been kicking ass lately while Madhouse’s animators are forced to draw yet another tea-drinking scene.
I kinda missed the similarities since yea, Chiko has been kicking ass, whereas Allison… She still does, it seems like the show still needs more to keep the boat afloat / plane in the sky, etc.
