It just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it?

Unlike Eve no Jikan, this show is seriously so good that I can’t seem to shut up about it—-but that doesn’t mean I know how and where to start praising its level of brilliance either! I must admit that at first it really did look “lame”, especially because the scary Category B monster was not scary at all, or the least bit monsterous; it was just weird. Then, the last three minutes caught my attention and then came about the second episode, and now the third, and I aboslutely adore this series. All of the characters are “cool”, especially Yomi even though she used to be the sweet big sister. Speaking of which, it really saddens me that she and Kagura shared such a close relationship and now Yomi’s taken over by jealousy. Ga-Rei -zero- certainly knows how to attract an audience and keep me interested!

W00T Character developement flashback time! Seeing Yomi in “Nee-san mode” rather than “crazy killer Samurai mode” was nice, but I can’t wait for her to go insane and betray everyone on her team. Preferably with epic flames of death in the background. Kagura’s developement from a sad and lonely child to a brighter, warmer, happier one was great to watch too; Yomi tried her best and used the infinite powers of snacks, bad-cooking and some healthy competitive gaming on the Dreamcast Dreambox to get her to open up. All psychiatrists should take heed, don’t talk to children about their problems, food and gaming = happiness.

Who needs demonic powers when you’ve got Onee-chan powers?

I always thought Kagura was some kind of genius of the blade, especially when Yomi said “I could never beat you” last episode. I guess she meant “Except that one time that I beat you”. Seems like Kagura’s father was kind of harsh on her, though pretty much everything he taught her was true. Leave it to Yomi-onee-chan to dispel the darkness of the “ornery” father. Yeah, I don’t know what that word means either.

ZOMG IT’S TEH CLASS A O_O!

These disposal units dont seem to be very useful; of the three we’ve heard of, two of them have been eliminated and one of those died in a plane crash. You can annihilate giant flaming CG dinosaurs and zombie demons but you can’t survive a plane crash? That’s just sad. The newly intoduced (and dead) Professor Mitogawa was apparently from a family of Taoists, which gave him the power to control small creatures, like insects, frogs and demonic blue butterflies that signify death and betrayal. Controlling insects has got to be one of the lamest demonic powers I’ve ever heard of. Oh wait. I take that back.

Wouldn’t bind myself to that dragon Ga-Rei in a million years.

In other news, the motor-powered sheath sword has an official name: Air Pressure Type Anti-Evil Drawing Blade Michael 12th, A.K.A The APTADBM12th. What an awesome name. I prefer Mikey, though. PREPARE TO BE SLAUGHTERED AT THE HANDS OF MIKEY! A sense of dread and terror would cripple the enemy for sure.
