Macross Frontier – 09: A Woman of a Thousand Tears!
Klan cries! The title is an example of an exaggeration.
I know how I expressed how unenthusiastic I was about this episode last week, but I actually found this episode surprisingly enjoyable. I must’ve clicked the open button for the download too many times on Azureus (or however the bloody ‘ell you spell it) that when I watched the episode, the graphics were totally off and the only thing that looked nice was the subs. So I stole from Omni’s post instead (no hot-linking by the way!). Ah, well, at least I didn’t miss the corpse of Jessica. Michael’s story was really interesting and his sister’s story was quite sad too, but I’d like to know the truth as well and that is why I don’t mind another Michael episode. When Klan was talking to him and he said whatever it was he said (can’t remember, but I know it was rather mean), the moment she flew off I couldn’t help but laugh ‘cos, I mean, don’t they usually run off? Okay, I feel bad for having laughed at that moment because it was quite dramatic (making a chick cry is dramatic. Making a guy cry is even more dramatic).
Michael’s sister, Jessica, is awesomely hot as well and the fact that she was an exceptional sniper is cool too. But anyhow, Luca’s “giggle” at the very end of the episode was freaky. Really freaky. Gosh, it was so feminine lols. Another part that made me rofl was when Michael was punching Alto. I know, I have no heart at all, but for some reason, it just looked really hilarious. Maybe it was because this tiny little head was going “left, right, left, right.” And may I honestly add that the trailer for Sheryl’s new movie is crap? It was like … a few words … her spinning … her grabbing a gun … her firing the gun … and then that was it. Although, I think it’d still attract an audience nevertheless because it’s Sheryl. When Alto was on the phone with her, I couldn’t help but think that Alto was supposed to be on the phone with Ranka instead. I know: I should not let my favourite pairing get in the way of my anime watching. And as Crusader told me, it’s a marathon and not a sprint, so I’ll be patient.
Not much Ranka in this episode either and if I were her, I’d get bored saying the same line twice (I’d literally collapse for saying the same line three times). On the other hand, the “new” guy is sooo cool and yandere-ish. I mean … he was trying to kill Klan while laughing evilly. Hooot!!! I love Klan but I guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do and create an atmosphere while he’s at it. Plus, I think Grace is bad because she was spying on Leon, etc, and I sensed these eviiiiiil vibes. Yeah, I apologize if I sound totally different from how I usually think/write, or if I’m sounding uber insane and retarded, but I’m currently watching Starsky & Hutch while typing this out (and you know what comedy can do to you. Okay, maybe not, but comedies always make me go on high. And no, I don’t take drugs). Next week looks like there’s gonna be more Ranka love for all of us. Definitely something I’m looking forward to.
Ranka, Ranka, Ranka!
Why is it always about Ranka? Aren’t there any other cool female leads in this show? I haven’t watched Macross Frontier, but part of me wants to to see what the big deal about mother****ing RANKA is. From the pictures I’ve seen I guess she must have some sort of appeal for Anime fans, but static isn’t always the best judging factor. How she is in motion is another matter…
Two things.
1. OMG Klan in a dress.
2. I think Klan is capable of drowning me with her tears.
3. That red Valkyrie should have just destroyed the Vajra nest in the first place.

i really liked this episode though. it totally made up for the shortcomings of the last episode. Particularly the animation.
Mikhail displaying human movements in his VF was particularly pleasing as well.
Miclon Klan or Loli Klan. So hard to choose .-.
*sigh* High on comedy. The first step in getting better is admitting you have a problem ^_^.

Shin: There is only one answer to the question you pose – both, of course, as they’re both Klein Klan. You can’t pick which parts of her you like better, so you accept the whole package. And give her a hug, even if she’s likely to kill you one way or another.
@newgeekphilosopher: That’s why we have Sheryl. Just watch episode 5 if you want to be convinced to start following the series. I’ve convinced a fair number people already based on that alone.

I know why you didn’t care about Alto-hime when he was getting beat up. Not even Mikhail’s puny fists could make a dent in that kind of beauty…
