Real sentimental stuff

Summary:
Minamo has to do a book report because she doesn’t have a cyberbrain that lets you use hacks during exams.Unfortunately nobody reads paper books anymore since they have been digitized, most of them anyway. The book she’s reading has some missing sections on a few pages due to vandalism but Holon suggested it might just be the result of a protest about books 50 years ago(Library Wars?).Minamo was convinced that it was someone trying to make a love letter, though she was proven wrong in 3 seconds. So she goes to grandma to ask for another book to read.Meanwhile Souta wants to work part time with Haru since he’s Minamo’s guardian so he needs to be nearby.Grandma suggest reading a book called the Love Letter. She spends the whole day on it but the last page is blank.Haru explains that its because its for the reader to fill in.It was a love letter directed to the person the reader feels is important. The book was never digitized because the author refused to do so along with new prints.Minamo remembers the letter she found inside the book when she looked for it in the library.Consulting grandma again didn’t give any leads. But a name on the book suggested it belonged to some old lady. She was a CEO of a big company and Minamo goes to investigate. The old lady died 2 years back but her adopted son recognizes the book and obliges to give Minamo the letter. The letter reveals its shocking contents. Its a letter from Haru to his lover 50 years back. The old lady was a fellow researcher back in the day and wrote a love letter to Haru.He replied he would see her when he returns from his dive.He never did and she died waiting for him.Haru meets Minamo at the spot where he last dived. She was holding the letter and Haru lamented that he was only asleep for a while,at least that’s what he felt.Minamo breaks down due to the love tragedy that just unfolded.

Thoughts:
That was surprisingly good.I thought it was going to be another fillerish episode but it didn’t feel that way to me.Yea the plot was nothing new but these sentimental traps work well when used appropriately.Somehow though,I would rather just buy the series on a dvd and watch it in one day rather than on a weekly basis.I’m still as confused as ever as to what will become of Haru and Minamo.Romance might be out of the question. What next?Still I can’t help but admire the character designs for most of the female characters. One unidentified walking cheeseball was mistakenly dressed up as a human.

Next time….. a cat shakes hands with a human !!! Okay I just don’t know what to expect anymore….

A voluptuous, tasty walking cheeseball :3

Btw it’s a dog, next ep is centered around dogs. The handshake is sort of a protocol in order to communicate with them.
