Real Drive 7 & 8

Ghosts,puppies,ice cream and walruses

Summary:

Dogs can talk now apparently.Yep humans have implanted cybernetic nanobots into dogs which enable them to connect to the Metal.Hence, those with cyber brains can more or less communicate with their pets.Problem is that dogs are still just, DUMB ANIMALS no matter how much we love them. This time the “investigators” are given the task to locate a missing person by a dog.Apparently the master switched brains with the dog.He almost died because he didn’t know he needed to drool in order not to overheat.Yes I’m not bullshitting. So they find the guy easy enough and send him to the hospital. But then after they switch back the master decides to get lost in the Metal. And Tappy is it?Uhh no its Tapoo.Okay the dog again goes to Haru and Minamo for help. This time Haru dives into the Metal while Minamo looks for the runaway body. What follows is an elaborate explanation as to why the guy is doing this.(I think he’s just crazy though)Because he loves his dog so much he wanted to BE A DOG.And he wants to get eaten up by the dog Metal so he can finally be on the same level with them.He thinks of his first pet as his brother and could never fully get over his death or more accurately the bitch’s death since the dog had puppies and Tappy Tapoo is errr..generation no. XX Haru talks some sense into the moron and brings him back to his senses. It just goes to show me that I shouldn’t get too close to my pets.Because once we cross the line, we get stuff like people marrying goats somewhere in rural Pakistan.

Episode 8 featured the urban myth that the people who died when the artificial island was built turned into ghosts and were haunting the school.Turns out it was just this new job craze among young people.Selling your brains for money.Since most people have cyber brains now, they’re practically computers. So when you’re sleeping you don’t need your brain anymore. Thus, you sell your processing power for money. The side effects are that your dreams get stuck in the computer logs. This generates unwanted after images or ghosts in this case. The people who participate in this non-sense also have their memories messed with which causes some minor personality changes in Minamo’s friends. In the end the mystery is solved.

Thoughts:
This is turning out to be some kind of Detective Conan thing…though I have no problems with it, its still disappointing because the there isn’t a more complex plot developing. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that everybody seemed like walruses in episode 8.Or perhaps its because half the screentime was given to walruses.Either way,Minamo is the only one with perfect body proportions here.

And I’m also scratching off Special A from my blog list because…I needed to get rid of something to accommodate the new summer animes.Special A was the unlucky one since Real Drive used puppies and ice cream to win me over.

Edit:

I found time to check out the ED single from Last Allicance and its everybit as awesome as I hoped it would be.But…I doubt many people care since thinking shows apparently aren’t popular T.T

Its not that I don’t like thinking shows, its just that I stopped caring about this show long ago; the plot was going nowhere, the music was too SENSATIONAL for every occasion and it was just flat out boring. I’ll take Kaiba (I think its could be classified as a thinking show) over this any day. Also, main girl was annoying (Forgot her name :p)
