@Hynavian: Haha, I decided I’d watch something vampire-ish for your sake as well. I tried Vampire Knight – hated it, BLOOD+ – got bored of it, Hellsing – grew tired of it, but I’ll try the other two.

Oh blissmo, you’re WATCHING A SERIES THAT HAS THE VAMPIRE THEME?!?! I was shocked that you actually caught a vampire theme based anime and even blogged about it. Hence, I went to catch the first two episodes of Kurozuka (though I have an essay due tmr) to see what caught your attention.

After catching the first 2 episodes, I think Kurozuka is like some samurai setting show with lots of characters jabbing and punching holes into the bodies of each other (with lots of gore and body parts flying everywhere). *Too much gore, Too much gore, Too much gore….*

Since you have taken the first step to catch a vampire series, maybe you can catch others like Black Blood Brothers, Blood+, Tsukihime, Hellsing (if you like gore and insanity) and Vampire Knight (if you like triangle relationship drama) instead?

I’m really enjoying this – unlike you, I so enjoy a good vampire tale though. The atmospherics, the slick action, the voice acting…it’s all really well done; the music is great too – and those Noh dances at the beginning and end of each episode are a nice touch.

The second ep is a bit confusing (damn that dream sequence!) but it still has this wonderful visceral and polished beauty to it. Apparently the manga’s a bit of a brainless action-fest so I’m glad that the anime is so…refined? If it turns out to be a good love story with a bit of swordplay to hasten things along it’ll be one of my faves of the season.

Squealing lol, that’s rich. Looks pretty violent+fantasy-ish. I think there’s good amperage since the manga is full in the flesh. Haven’t had the chance to check it out :/
