Well, if it’s Ren’s seemingly random animosity that annoys you, then I’m sure you will find it at least somewhat satisfying later on when his bullying backfires on him … But bullying aside, I think there are actually some other more valid reasons for disliking him that a lot of people, even those that dislike him, tend to either overlook or sense only unconsciously. But Nakamura sensei will hopefully address these issues eventually … and then the poor guy should really get what’s coming to him.

Sho is cute because he’s actually pretty naive too, despite being so obnoxiously overbearing.

I’m also going to comment on one thing, Ren is a cool character but I still wish to see Shou more for some odd reason. I have to agree.

I’m enjoying reading the manga right now, but I didn’t quite get into this episode. I don’t know why, but it didn’t pull me in. But the chibiness is what makes the show awesome. My favorite scene of this whole episode is probably when Kyouko finds out about the “Love me” section and her inner demons are making fun of it, and she just trying to act all cool about it.

@tango: I totally agree with you, but again, I don’t read the manga yet it sounds really good! I watched a few episodes of Perfect Girl Evolution some time ago but I couldn’t stand the pictures when the characters were not chibi, but it was their chibi-ness that caught my attention first.

I think Sho is cuter in the anime, a large factor is that mamo-chan plays his role. The Tamaki-like voice moments, like when he ate the pudding, and his chibi squeals and chibi-devil guffaws are cute.

Ren is the cool model guy with sexy poses. But his chibi-moments are also adorable. They appear more and more frequently as the series progresses.

I like how the anime/manga handles the transformation to chibiness really well. Everything fits in and doesn’t seem out of place. In some series, the use of SD isn’t so well transitioned, like in The Wallflower (aka Perfect Girl Evolution) where the main character is mostly in chibi-mode then suddenly theres this total transformation of her to a beautiful (though scary) girl. Now that I really think about it, the reason why Skip Beat manages it so well is mainly because the individual features of the characters are maintained when they transform, as in it’s not just a general chibi shape.

Skip Beat wins in terms of use and most frequent use of chibiness.

Sho’s a character I love to hate. Well I don’t hate him at all, it’s just his jerk attitude is pretty entertaining. However I’d rather have Ren end up with Kyoko than Sho (from my impressions of later chapters)

I like all the characters, but Ren the least. I don’t know – maybe it’s just his attitude, you know? Although Sho is a lot worse compared to him in terms of treating Kyouko, Ren is like a total stranger and yet he’s such a meanie. Now you’ve just made me want to watch the next episode NOW with that last line of yours

Well, all the characters are going to develop, right? So I suppose once I find out why Ren is like that, I’ll like him too. I just hope it’s nothing to predictable … like maybe he joined with the same intentions, or maybe someone he used to love did the same thing like Kyouko and ended up dying. Don’t spoil what happens next though! Let my imagination run wild~

I also loved the maze scenes and the “anthem of love me”. It was so cute XD
