SOUL EATER – 05

Need more Death the Kid!

Quick Summary:

Doctor Frankenstein appears and defeats the group, even though Maka and Soul resonance their souls. He is able to collect people’s data by just giving them a simple look. He was also Spirit’s (Maka’s father) previous partner for five years, and during that time he did various experiments on Spirit’s body while he was asleep. Doctor Frankenstein is about to hurt Maka, having previously knocked out Black Star, but just as he approaches her Soul appears. He tries to stop Doctor Frankenstein from laying a finger on her, but instead, Doctor Frankenstein just rests a hand on Soul’s head and declares that he’s passed the “maintenance” test. As it turns out, Sid was also playing along the entire thing was a trick.

Thoughts:

An awesome episode indeed! I love Doctor Frankenstein and his quirkiness, and if I had known that this episode had been subbed earlier, I would’ve blogged it long ago. Sadly, though, I didn’t have enough time to write up the full summary, so I hope what I did was okay anyway. Besides, not much happened but it was definitely a fun watch, especially at the end when the truth was revealed. I love how Soul protected Maka from Doctor Frankenstein — kyuu~~!! I was also hoping to see more of Death the Kid, but it looks like he’s going to be in it more in the next episode, where I think he meets Black Star and Soul and they break into a fight? Soul Eater certainly hasn’t disappointed me yet and I was actually surprised that the mission was just a test set up by Shinigami. Now I know why Doctor Frankenstein is “half-good and half-bad”, to those who told me last week. Or is there more to him? I’d like to give the manga a shot, but I really don’t want to spoil myself yet!

Cool ep with Stein ruling everybody. And he´s a comedian as well, always good for this kind of show.

Have to keep watching this show.
