Druaga no To ~The Aegis of URUK~ 03

Summary:
The episode begins with a flashback of Gilgamesh defeating Druaga and saving Ki. Everything disappears and Ki says that the Curse of Druaga will one day save Gil’s life.
Back in the present, Jil, is rescued by Neeba and they escape the guest palace. Later that day, it seems the King is alive and well. This confuses Jil and the Captain Kleb. However, the King’s advisor, Marf, and Kaaya are not at all surprised by this. We find out later that it was Marf who ordered the “assassination”. Out on the streets, Jil and his party are having lunch when a giant slime falls form the sky. Attempting the free the girl trapped inside, Jil (unsuccessfully) tries to rescue her with his stick of doom. Jil and the girl are then rescued by Ahmey and her wind-up Spear. The girl turns out to be Coopa and her master is apparently some bigshot lightning mage.
Jil and his party go to the bar where the mage, Melt, is staying. However, this meeting is cut short by the royal guards who suddenly show up and arrest everyone, but not before punching out Melt first. While everyone is locked up, Kleb takes Kaaya away to meet Gilgamesh. During this meeting, Gil calls her Ishara, and gives her his own sword. This, apparently, will be the last time they will ever meet. After this encounter, the rest of the party is freed from captivity when a monster falls through the roof of their cell. Malty and Ahmey easily dispatch the evil Barney look-alike, and Kaaya suddenly shows up and gives Jil the sword.
The episode ends with Melt and Coopa joining the party and the newly formed party heads off to the Tower.

I’m liking Ishara’s Kaaya’s sly side.
How to recruit party members 101
Jil vs Slime Round 1!

The crowd’s reaction says it all

I love Minori Chihara (of Yuki Nagato and Chiaki Minami fame), but my goodness Coopa’s voice is annoying.
We now know that Kaaya has a few big secrets up her sleeve. One of them being that she’s probably somehow related to Ki (reincarnation? granddaughter?). Also, we learna bout the curse of Druaga. It seems like it really did save the King like KI said it would. Though, I have a suspicion the King will die when/before the tower is destroyed. I’m kinda disappointed that Jil gets a sword, because I wouldn’t mind watching him fight his way to the top floor with just a stick. Still, this was another (dare I say) enjoyable episode.

Aww what? Is Fatana (is that her name?) not in this episode?
Nope D: But Kaaya > Fatina anyways
Actually I think Fatina has like 2 lines this episode and 30 seconds of screen time lol.
