Toshokan Sensou – 06: No blood, but brutal all the same

Poor kid …

When I saw Komaki running at the start, I immediately asked myself: “who the hell is this?” Maybe it was because the situation was currently set in the nighttime, or perhaps it was because I remember Komaki by his freakish laughter. At last there was some more blood and I seriously couldn’t care less if Komaki’s entire leg had been destroyed, so long as the animators tossed in a few drops of beautiful blood. No, I’m not some sort of scary emo and I don’t lust for blood and I’m not a retarded vampire … I just like the sight of it in cartoons and animation. The episode was starting off quite decently too, and I sort of got worried since I thought that I had missed out on the previous episode, which I hadn’t.

I was expecting some pathetic flashback like the beginning of episode four, but was glad that it started off with Iku and Komaki running away from the Media pimps. It wasn’t until Komaki laughed again that I wanted to kick his head off and toss it down the gutter (it’s like, the scariest sound I’ve ever heard of), but the episode itself wasn’t all that bad. It was rather pathetic that the library people got tricked like that … ending up being surrounded by their opposition … and then running into a dead end … and then Iku’s phone was like a torch that gave away their position … and then Komaki didn’t lose his leg … But the reason he gave about laughing at Iku because of Iku’s similarities with Doujou were pretty understandable I guess.

And then the episode reached the half-way point where I think the subbers shoved in some random shot! ARGH, angry blissmo! I wonder what show that was from … Anyway, when I saw the part of the horror film Shibasaki was watching I seriously thought that Iku had been chained up or something, but no, Toshokan Sensou isn’t that brutal. I still don’t understand why Iku thanked her in the end for leaving 20 messages though … or was it because Shibasaki was just showing some concern, because then I’d understand the gratitude if it was for that reason.

The part when Tezuka was on the phone had me thinking that he was calling his mum, but I knew that it was going to hold some importance later on. I’m glad that he’s intelligent enough to call upon those whatever people and get the Media Enforcement to back down. Nice happy ending too, lols. So far, I can’t exactly say that Toshokan Sensou is brilliant because I was thinking of stopping the episode at mid-way point because I couldn’t be bothered watching the next half, but did because I knew I had nothing better to do. I’ll probably continue watching this for a while until I find something better to do …

Nooo~! Happy ending!!

But in all SRS BSNS, one part that got me really angry and pissed was when some asshole from the Media Enforcement aimed a gun at a child, and fired only to scare him. But well, I’m not a good rager so I’ll just save that for issa-sa :D And I have to agree with Kabitzin that this episode was pretty dull, but I’m going to stick to it since usagijen loves it and so hey, it might get better too.

I’ve never heard of this Anime, but these words put the image of Osamu Tezuka calling his mum on the phone, about something important. Really important. Like “Where the hell are my original panels for Jungle Taitei at?”.

*demands that blissmo sticks with Toshokan Sensou to the very end despite the lack of gore because I’m a senseless show whore*
