true tears – 02

ShinXNoe? Muahaha.
For some reason, I’m really drawn into this anime. I’m no fan of love triangles or romantic stuff – I prefer mystery, blood, violence, fantasy, etc – but I abosultely love True Tears. Maybe it’s the animation and character designs that have me captivated, or perhaps it’s just Noe’s personality and looks alone. She’s definitely my favourite because of her strange way of acting cute. I love chickens too since my zodiac is of a chicken, lol. If anything, I hope this anime ends with Shinichirou and Noe being together, or at least Hiromi developing into a better character. In the first episode, she was rather dull and just plain boring that the only highlights of that episode were moments with Noe in it. She is more interesting in episode 02, but I can’t say that I’m beginning to actually like her.

Noe tells Shinichirou that she gave away her tears, so even though she’s extremely saddened that Raigomaru died, she cannot cry for it. She also tells him that because he’s the very first person who she’s ever told this secret, he must believe her. In order to get her tears back, Noe needs to take someone else’s. At school, rumours start spreading that Noe is trying to win Shinichirou’s love, but because he’s living together with Hiromi, people are starting to believe that he’s becoming a player. However, Shinichirou just thinks that he’s being a replacement for Raigomaru since Noe goes as far as giving him seeds, which she would normally give to the chicken. Hiromi is starting to notice how close Noe is to Shinichirou and her friend one day teases her about finding a challenge, but Hiromi denies it. She sees Noe at the chicken pen later on creating a makeshift grave for Raigomaru. She asks why Noe just doesn’t make a proper burial and the conversation ends somewhere there. Instinctively, Hiromi begins to pay attention to Shinichirou more, by talking to him more during school. She even asks him if he can introduce her to Noe so that they can become friends. On the other hand, Nobuse can see right through the lie, but Shinichirou thinks that Hiromi is just being nice. Later, Shinichirou informs Noe that Hiromi wants to become her friend, but Noe already knows that that isn’t the case. Both of them go to visit Raigomaru’s grave. Instead of the original grave Noe had made, it is replaced with a proper one, which was most likely the work of Hiromi. During a basketball game, Hiromi has too much on her mind to concentrate and when she spots Noe watching her, she trips. Shortly afterwards, Hiromi goes to see Noe and Noe tells her straightforwardly that she knows Hiromi dislikes her. She also questions why Hiromi would lie to Shinichirou like that. Noe leaves and Hiromi’s friend comes to help her, but Hiromi knows that she’s the real one to blame. That same day, Shinichirou tells Hiromi about Noe and immediately, Hiromi bows and apologizes for lying about wanting to become friends with Noe. She exclaims that she’s very astonished because Noe had seen through her.

Thoughts: Once more, I enjoyed the animation. Hiromi is becoming more interesting, but I still find Noe even more fascintating. Her character is really strange, but she’s also very cute in a way. It’s pretty obvious that if some one’s gonna end up with someone, it’s gonna be Shinichirou and Hiromi. They both live together under the same roof so it’s really no surprise. Take Kimikiss Pure Rogue for example. Mao is finally realizing that she likes Kouichi, and everyone knows long-distant relationships never work out in the end. This anime is probably going to have a Noe arc, then Aiko arc, then last of all Hiromi arc, which is a huge disappointment for me. I never liked anime that followed that kinda story. So, even though I’m rooting for Shinichirou and Noe couple, I’m gonna have to admit that it’s most likely that Shinichirou and Hiromi are going to be together. Anime can sometimes be so typical and predictable. It’d be nice, for a change, though, if Shinichirou does end up with Noe and that new guy who’s living with Noe goes out with Hiromi. Now that’d be different. I prefer surprises and hopefully True Tears can surprise me.

great anime i must say. i feel sorry for the Noe girl though. but none the less this anime has a very good story line.
