Yukan is now a runner in the contest too with the submission of their award-winning pumpkin cupcakes!

My internet has only three bookmarks saved: myanimelist, yukan blog, and oi hayaku! The first two are marked because of my own concieted reasons to go to a page that I am a part of, the last is the only bookmark that I am excited to go to yet too nervous to type in so I saved my shaking fingers the trouble and added the glorious site to a bookmark.

I’ll be quite honest, I first heard about OH! when I saw blissmo’s frantic post about the potential threat. At first I thought I should feel guilty that at any given time when my browser was open, I was yelling at the “enemy” blog to update their page so I could read yet another enthralling article, but then I thought “Blissmo is in Australia, she can’t hurt me.” Now, I yell at the site most every day and am happy to receive a response as a shiny new story to read.

But let’s get to the real fun here, the Halloween contest! I am so moved by the site that I dedicated my entire pumpkin carving tradition this year to OH! Last year focused on the Gurren Lagann emblem so I decided to do a variation of that. I figured, in doing a post for the most epic and hot anime blog, you need to focus on some of the most epic and hotness of anime. So once again, my eyes turn towards Gurren Lagann, the most epic anime I have ever seen. But what exactly could I do to focus on the hotness? Why, none other than a tribute to Yoko. Oi, Hayaku! is the Yoko of anime blogs. Now, I could say Simon or Kamina, but I’m pretty sure blissmo would want me to leave that title up to our own blog, so I dub thee “Yoko Level Hotness with Simon Level Epicness.”

Some time back, otou-san tried to warn me that Yoko was, in the start of the series, supposed to be a 13 or 14 year old girl. I figured that if that was true, then I’ve only been fueling my pedophilia. I mean, how dare Gainax! Now I question whether it’s a good thing to call someone Yoko then drool at their over developed breasts. But somehow I think this fits with OH! because Baka-Raptor refered to the layout as being “pedophilic,” so now I don’t feel guilty at gawking at your digi-boobs.

The Yoko Award of Anime Blogging (Halloween Style)

Congratulations OH!, you have won my personal pumpking carving award that will never be given out to any other anime blog ever. I decided, while epic, you guys are slightly more hot, so you’ve been honored with comparison of your wiley words to the contours of Yoko’s body.

Just so you know, I worked hella hard on that pumpkin of Yoko’s hair clip and those cupcakes taste like how I imagine a rule 63 of Omisyth would be, and both emit the pumpkin scent of Halloween.

In short, you have attracted my interest and aroused my body. Why don’t you go all the way and make Yukan your personal ChampiOH!n.

Fire’s got nothing on Touma’s primary hand!
So at this point, once again, I am 1 episode behind. Having, already seen the next episode, I won’t ruin anything in this post. I’m beginning to question just how this crazy, ridiculous, hacking right hand of Touma works, or perhaps I am curious as to just how this magic works. As we see in this episode, fire magic just doesn’t seem to work in any way whatsoever.

Summary:

So as the title and this magician’s prominent red hair say: Touma is going to be dealing with a lot of fire in this episode. But of course, no high level evil mage is going to think “Hey, my magic won’t work on this kid, maybe I should carry a gun or a knife.” No instead, even when they realize that his right hand will stop all magic attacks, they will continue to cast magic like the top dog pro that they are!

The whole reason the mage was able to follow Index to where she was is because she came back for the hood to her robes. However, now that Touma had broken the magic in Index’s robes, she was easy prey for the man that calls himself Steel Magnis and Faltis 931. I don’t really know why he wants two names or why the second has numbers in it, but that’s all fine, he wants to be called Faltis 931 for now so I can abide. Faltis figures out that Touma has a hacker hand when he wastes his good cigarette to create a large fire ball blast. What he follows up with is just 10 kinds of confusing awesome. Faltis uses his high level magic to summon a fire elemental, the king of witch hunting, Inocentius.

This beats heating the doorknobs in Home Alone.

This is where everything gets all too confusing. As soon as Inocentius is summoned, we see that his heat affects pretty much everything. The doorknobs get white hot and melt a bit, but Touma and the wizard don’t feel a thing. I’m willing to set that aside because the fight that follows is rather awesome.

Touma has already proved that he can nullify magic, but this elemental regenerates his flames faster than they disappear. The trick to defeat the monster is that Touma has to destroy all the runes that bind Inocentius to that place. Turns out, the floor underneath them is plastered in post-it notes with magical symbols on them. That clever man came prepared! I wonder if he came with a book of post-its and a marker and colored the symbols on the spot and pressed down each and every adhesive paper or if he had some other way to do this ahead of time. Oh well, Touma uses his conducive abilities and decides the sprinklers will destroy the ink on all the papers. So, one elevator ride later, a brief explanation of his his genius plan came to play, and a swift punch to the face solved all their problems.

Well, not all of the problems. Index is still bleeding and by her explanation only people who cannot use psychic powers can use the healing spell in her knowledge. So Touma goes to probably the only non-psychic person her knows. Turns out, it’s his loli teacher.

Thoughts:

This show is just too cool for it’s own good. Except when it lacks in the makey sensey area. As I sad before, Inocentius’ flames affect everything around it to a certain degree. Yea, Faltis says that Inocentius is made of 3000 degree flames. That’s where this doesn’t make sense. If Touma touches a hot stove with his right hand, will it burn? I just want to know the exact limitations of this hand or his. Hopefully things will get explained even further.

Life is 100x cuter in bunny pajamas!

So, his loli teacher, Tsukuyomi Komoe is indeed an older person. I thought it was too hilarious when Touma came into her apartment and there was a full ash tray and beer cans littered all over the place. I knew she wasn’t some sort of 12 year old genius teaching, but it sure was a surprise to see this. She might be one of my new favorite characters. Given that she gets some hilarious parts in upcoming episodes.

Suspicious much? o.O

There are two likely possibilities here: blissmo did it or newgeekphilosopher did it. Sorry Jacob, I gotta throw you into the mix because everyone knows that the only two possibilities are that blissmo poisoned her with crazy killing cookies or that Dante left of her own free will. Refusing the believe the latter of the two, I will point a confused, yet still condemning, finger at blissmo and/or Jacob (not really man)

Blizzy, what’d you do? Only you have the power here to delete accounts. (Unless I do… omg, do I?) No, this has to be your fault, or Oi, Hayaku! stole another writer – I’m totally just kidding here guys, I read your recent post and saw the part about stealing yukan authors.

Pfft, who am I kidding, she probably left or something. Anyone Blissmo, wanna let me know me know what happened? Cause frankly, I kinda liked the new girl. She had a certain naive charm.

I have described it to my friend as having just the right amount of everything.

That’s right, before any other yukan writer tries to claim ownership over blogging this show, I did! This show weaves together some of my favorite things: fantasy, sci-fi, and magic. Sure it’s lacking in the romance and shoujo area, which I personally enjoy, but this is a great show through and through. I have described it to my friend as having just the right amount of everything.

It’s about Kamijou Touma, a boy who lives in a technologically advanced city that is populated with people with psychic powers. He, in fact, attends a school that revolves around those very powers. However, Touma seems to be lacking in the supernatural power realm due to an odd ability of his own.

Summary:

So the show starts off with Touma trying to save a girl in a cafe from some delinquents. His strategy: insult then run like hell! He tires himself out on a bridge but feels safe that he has lost them. But to his surprise, the girl from the cafe is standing before him. Turns out he wasn’t trying to protect the girl, he was trying to lure to gangsters away from her for their own protection. She Misaka Mikoto and is labeled as a level 5 psychic at Touma’s school and after defeating the gangsters she decided to go after Touma for trying to ruin her fun. He tries to explain to her that he is a level 0 psychic and that there is no way it is fair, but she doesn’t stop. She uses her electrical powers to fire off a large blast at Touma, but he stands there with his hand extended and no harm done. So her anger escalates and her psychic lightning increases.

The next morning, Touma wakes up to find that Mikoto’s electricity caused power outages, meaning his air conditioner went out and his fridge stopped working. So he decides to hang his mattress over the veranda to air out, but to his surprise a young girl is hanging over his banister. She claims she is hungry so he decides to feed her the spoiled food. After a while of her saying how kind he is, he feels bad and decides to punish himself by eating the food too. They have a nice time acquainting themselves and they talk about their powers.

To his surprise this girl, Index, is a mage and she has 103 thousand forbidden magical books in her possession. He tells her how his right hand nullifies all supernatural powers and she doesn’t believe it. He doesn’t believe her that she has magical powers so they decide to test it. She can’t prove her magic because she can’t cast spells and he can’t prove his psychic powers cause he nullifies all powers. So they decide to show both their powers by having Touma touch her magically enchanted robes. So one decisive touch later, she is standing before him naked.

This proves both their powers and they believe one another, and after she fixes her robes they part ways. He heads to his supplementary classes and she continues her path to flee the people chasing her for the forbidden texts.

He goes to school and nothing really special happens except that we see his teacher and she is a tiny, pink-haired loli that looks like she is about 8, but she is the teacher nonetheless.

So he heads back home and is confronted by Mikoto once again who claims they are tied in their fight since neither could harm the other. This doesn’t interest him, so he heads home. But to his surprise, Index is lying wounded on his doorstep with cleaning robots around her. Her attacker walks slowly up behind Touma and claims he too is a mage.

Thoughts:

I love this show because, like I said “It had the right amount of everything.” It’s very action packed, mysterious, and funny. I get pulled into the show’s fantasy world and its completely logical actions. At this point I have seen episodes 1 and 2, and will post episode 2 later. I just can’t get enough of it. I’m curious to find out more about Touma’s nullifying right hand and how exactly he can use it to his benefit more often.

Medusa is hideously beautiful.

Summary:

All the students are still locked in the tower and Shinigami-sama comes clean and tells everything that there is indeed a Kishin (Death God) underneath Shibusen; the only problem is that they have no real idea as to what a Kishin is. This is when he tells the story about the first Kishin, Asura. My initial thought was “Omg, isn’t that the name of the demon stance that Zoro uses and/or isn’t that the name of the one hit kill move in Ragnarok Online?” (but that all doesn’t really matter). We, an all the students, that Asura is one crazy bastard from Shinigami-sama’s old personal unit, The Eight Warriors. He was feared and he desired power so he turned to human souls, and you know the drill… he became a Kishin.

Meanwhile, Stein explains how Shinigami-sama is pretty much a part of Shibusen, Soul talks to his little red Imp friend, and Blair takes on those mouse sisters. During all this, the group progresses further in the long underground corridor and is joined by Death Scythe and, shortly after, Medusa. Now Stein has a weapon to assist him.

Stein then reveals Medusa’s plan and explains their own. When Medusa attacks, Black Star and Death the Kid easily pass her but Maka suffers a few causalities before she finds herself safe on the other side. Just as Medusa goes to land another assault on Maka, Stein stops her with a soul technique. Medusa says they should dance again but Stein rejects it since her feet are sown to the floor by threads of her wavelength. As it turns out, Stein can precisely control anyone’s soul wavelength by a single blow. When Stein is confident that he’ll win, he soars in her direction as she’s pinned to the wall and is about to destroy her, but Medusa uses her Vector arrow which forces him backward—-the same in which the arrow is pointing. Medusa and Stein’s battle pauses when she offers him to join her in creating a new world as scientists.

Meanwhile, Death the Kid easily slides pass Chrona without being noticed because of his enormous speed. Chrona worries over the consequences when Black Star appears to claim his “stage.” The two Meisters ready for a fight when Maka arrives and decides to go against Stein’s idea and fight Chrona herself. At first, Black Star is reluctant and makes a joke out of it, but once he realizes how serious Maka is, he allows her to take his stage.

Thoughts:

This episode was what I’ve we’ve been waiting for: the take off of a serious plot. We get to learn information about the Demon God under Shibusen and just what our heros will be fighting for.

I must say that Death Scythe (Spirit) is kind of fishy. He somehow escaped and got ahead of the group when there were only 8 coffin hole made by Sid and it was a long one way hallway. His character is also over exuberant as if it is masking some sort of secret evil. It may just be me, but it all seems too convenient, but then again that may be the creator toying with us on plot points and such.

I haven’t seen Soul Eater for about two months, but I finally found the mood to watch it today, although I still need loads of catching up to do. After having gotten over Soul Eater for a while, this episode was definitely pleasant. The humour came about at the right moments so I wasn’t upset that the tensed atmosphere wasn’t completely ruined. I loved it how Maka was sensing a “lecherous” soul up ahead and it actually turned out to be her father. I also loved the time Death the Kid just zoomed past Chrona like that. One thing I really like about Soul Eater is that it doesn’t ever seem to drag and I’m always sure to get a good laugh out of each episode.

Summary:

The typical story of how awesome Excalibur’s powers are is read to us by Ox-kun as he heads towards Excalibur’s cave at the top of the water fall. During his tread through the water, I can’t help but notice how he is easily passing odds that there insurmountable to even Death the Kid; surely Ox can wield the weapon! He is qualified and equally annoying in my mind, but this episode would soon teach me that he was clearly not GAR enough.

Immediately we start off with the initial “Lame” reaction followed by “Fool” and “My legend began in the twelfth century” rebuttals. All that follows next are ramblings by the holy sword about how his mornings start off with coffee but he clearly drinks tea and allusions to his personal life and past. Apparently, Excalibur has a hawt wife and three kids, was a leader of what appears to be a 1950s American gang, and performed spectacular dances in opera houses.

Meanwhile, our lovable main characters have gathered at Soul and Maka’s to eat and prepare for a big project that is due the next day.

Back with Oxford and Excalibur, Excalibur continues to tell his newly found companion about how he fell in love with a woman, and how soon their relationship came to an end. It was then that Excalibur decided to put the ways of being a gangster behind. Later on he transforms into the sword and permits Oxford to take him in hand and live as a hero among others. Oxford grabs the handle and places it back into the stone, explaining that his intention was to write a report on Excalibur for school reasons, but now he doesn’t want to anymore since Excalibur proves to be annoying. Elsewhere at Shibusen, Liz complains in exhaustion that she hasn’t completed her assignment, but Black Star has. He only scribbled a few words that read: Fool.

Thoughts:

I’m so glad that I finally can keep up to date with Soul Eater. My couldn’t play those mp4 from AEN and Tadashi properly, but now that I have my macbook for college, I’m am ready for all the HD animes the internet can throw at me!

This episode was hilarious! Soul Eater is a very well done show because it holds it’s audience in two key areas: comedy and action (I won’t say that the story or characters are bad, but for the sake of my illustration I must limit it to two). Although this episode seemed filler, I’m betting that it was actually in the manga. I don’t know, somebody who read the manga might want to correct or confirm me on that. Point is, I don’t care if it is filler or not. Excalibur is one of my new favorite anime characters because of this single episode. He’s so adorable, full of himself, and awesome; therefore, the funniest thing the show has to offer as of yet.

To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to this episode at all and was going to wait for the next episode instead, which explains why this post is so late. But then I saw all the hard-work JLeeson put in and pitied the poor man and decided otherwise; I finally watched it and it was full-on LOL mania. Excalibur is in some way annoying, but adorably annoying, and even though his dance was really repetitive, I thought it was cute. During those scenes involving Excalibur with his gang, I kept wondering why the word “Pencil” kept popping up out of nowhere. I like Black Star’s idea of writing an essay with only a couple of words because then, life would be so much easier. About Excalibur’s children … Why aren’t they half-human? At least episode eighteen looks like some SRS BSNS.

Natsume realizes that he is lonely in life while Nyanko continues to rock the show.

This whole episode is a bit misleading at first. The title points that we are going to be seeing a Dew God of some sort, but then the episode starts off with Natsume actually being in the presence of his fellow classmates because he is stopped to sign a petition to have a fear contest (ghost hunt of sorts) in an abandoned building. My immediate thoughts are, “Hot dog! I get to see that expected ‘I can see ghosts and can’t let my classmates know’ awkwardness.” Sadly, that isn’t so. Natsume notices a bad ghost behind his friends, runs, and then we meet the Dew God shortly.

Summary:

Natsume explains that he only encounters two kinds of youkai, the type that want to steal the Yuujinchou (Book of Friends) and control the other youkai who’s names are written in it, and the type that just simply comes to have their name returned to them. This job of returning the names to those nice youkai that make friendly house visits seems simple enough, but the task really tires Natsume out, but who’d have thought with all this that his biggest challenge yet would be a grain of rice! That’s right! The Dew God’s page is stuck to another page by a grain of rice. Curse that adolescent Reiko!

Because forcing the pages apart could kill the two youkai, Natsume has to find the other off of a crudely drawn picture that resembles the shadow crawling youkai. The rest of the episode is either a find the other guy by going up to the most awkward and embarrassing looking youkai you can find and show him an equally embarrassing picture in hopes that he knows which shadows to search in (real efficient, let me just say, “That approach didn’t work.”) or learn about the touching story of how the Dew God and Natsume are alike in terms of heavy, painful loneliness; Natsume has no real friends and the Dew God shrinks in size year after year as people stop worshiping him.

Fortunately, the Dew God has one person who visits his tiny shrine: her name is Hana, and she’s a sickly, aged woman who is clinging to the hope that she might hear the Dew God speak to her once more like he did when she was a young girl, that or she’s hoping for a good crop, but she didn’t seem like the farming type to me.

They finally find the shadow youkai and are totally surprised that the Dew God’s 2 year old drawing doesn’t reassemble him, but seriously, they had to see that one coming. He is nothing like the youkai who’s name shares a sticky grain of rice with him, he hides in the shadows and after years of human neglect he has become touchy and rude. He attacks Natsume, but during this time Natsume sees the youkai’s memories of his grandmother and is finally about to free the Dew God and the newly named freak. He’d never done two names at the same time, so he passes out and has to wait for awhile before he can even walk again.

The next day, Natsume and Nyanko go to visit the Dew God only to find that he has shrunk even more because Hana has finally died. He is at peace as he disappears from this world because he know he will be with Hana once again. This gives Natsume a rude awakening that god’s have feelings too so on his way home he decides to pay his respects to a roadside shrine.

Thoughts:

This episode was a tad touching. It has some interesting parallels and contrasts within it to emphasize Natsume’s loneliness. I say that he doesn’t need friends when he has a talking cat that can transform into a giant wolf to protect him. Seriously Natsume? You don’t need anyone else.

I really hope that we can see Natsume participate in that class ghost hunt thing, but I don’t think it’ll happen.

(So there’s my first post in awhile and because I have a new computer I can finally watch some HD stuff like Soul Eater, so I am anticipating returning to my half and half blog on it with blissmo. Got episode 17 torrenting right now.)

Natsume Yuujinchou, the only show I’m blogging from this season. ::sigh::
Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him. Containing the names of these spirits, a binding contract was formed between the spirits and the owner of the book. Now, Natsume is determined to free the spirits and dissolve the contracts.

With the help of a spirit cat, his days are filled trying to return the names to these spirits (ANN).

There’s your little thesis to the show.

Summary:

Natsume is being chased by a one-eyed fat woman ghost. Not only do we see how dire phantoms long for Natsume, we also get to see a little glimpse of how living people see him. During his flee to a nearby shrine, he passes some classmates. His hectic life crosses with their carefree stroll and we get to see just how weird Natsume is in contrast and exactly what this show will have to offer along the lines of everyday humor. The ugly woman catches him. Apparently kicking a ghost in its large bulbous eye will free you from its clutches immediately. So take note, kiddies.

After he escapes the large ghost and her little shrimpy sidekick, he stumbles over a rope into a whole new league of trouble. He breaks a barrier rope that holds in a powerful kitty. The cat goes on to tell Natsume about his grandmother Reiko and seems to be interested in the Yuujinchou (Book of Friends). Then the kitty disappears.

Natsume heads home and goes to look at the odd book that he received from his late grandmother. This is when the kitty, Nyanko, appears again. He is after the Yuujinchou, but so are the two rascals from before. Natsume runs from them and flees into the forest. Nyanko transformed into Uber-Kitty which looks more like a wolf with long whiskers, but that’s beside the point. They agree to work together to free the ghosts. So Natsume goes and frees the cyclops, Hishigaki. During this time of freeing her he sees a flashback of his grandmother at his age making the contract with Hishigaki.

At the end he sticks with his resolve and determined to free the spirits in the Yuujinchou.

Thoughts:

My initial thought of the show was that it would possibly be the most awesome badass show if they cut the comedy, made the lighting a little darker, and worked on the art. All business and it’d be perfect! I wouldn’t really ever ask them to change the show though, because it is good in its own way. The concept seems kind of weak and I am sure we’ll see a lot of the same old “boy can see ghosts but classmates cannot” jokes. I am fine knowing this. In fact, I started the show knowing this. But so far, the best thing about the show is Nyanko’s voice when he gets big, and the way Natsume frees the spirits.

First off, I feel it necessary to go ahead and give a little plot summary, but I am way to lazy to even attempt and putting my words from episode 1 all together, so I figured I’d just copy and past from a comforting source:

Sixteen-year-old Kurenai Shinkurou, a specialist in settling squabbles between people, is one day approached by his employer with the daughter of a powerful plutocratic family asking him to be her bodyguard (Wikipedia).

Kure-nai was, all-in-all, a great show to watch. I probably would love to go back and rewatch this all in one day’s sitting, but I like to pile tons of “must see” animes on my agenda so I most likely won’t ever get back around to it. The show rounded out to about an 8 out of 10 in my book; and by MAL standards, that’s “Very Good.” However, if you were to look at my list, the scoring makes about as much sense as a cat chasing a dog. I tend to score shows off of the most random things, so I think I’ll go ahead and lay out my grading system for Kure-nai.

Was the Art Good?

Well, I’d say so! I’ll go ahead and compliment the greatness of Kure-nai’s art though its in depth fight scenes. The show stuck so true to physics of a fight. They didn’t make things too overly fast nor painfully and methodically slow. It kept you interested while being able to follow each swing.

I am not some artist so I won’t feign like I noticed some sort of special drawing style in this show. I’ll just say that I really didn’t feel like I was looking at the same old shit again.

Was the Story Good?

I clump a lot of stuff into story: “Have I seen something like this concept before?” and “Did the show portray itself in an acceptable way?”

Not all of us really go out and look for a show where a 16 year old boy has to protect a 7 year old girl from her incestuous family. Not all of us do, but a very twisted minority does.

The show didn’t really portray itself very well. There were too many stupid errors on Benika / Shinkurou’s side that really pulled away from they supposed profession. There were also a few quirks that just didn’t sit well with me, like the musical episode. Although the show did have extraordinary writing, I do not think it really followed its own plot that well.

Were the Characters Lovable?

I sure as hell thought so. I don’t care what you people think. I thought Murasaki was absolutely adorable. I know that she was a perfect bitch, but I just loved her cuteness. And yes, she is pretty much the only character that really mattered in this show other than boring ol’ Shinkurou.

—

So that pretty much covers the show. I can’t really say that I want a second season or an OVA, but I also can’t say that I wouldn’t watch it if it came out. It’s been fun blogging Kure-nai for ya’ll and I look forward to my first post of Natsume Yuujinchou.

That post title does not imply that this show was slow or bad, but rather jests at my severe slowness as a writer.
I won’t go on discussing all my views on the show’s entirety, so that I can save that for another post. This is all about the final episode of Kure-nai and because I ruined the final episode of True Tears at my old home blog; therefore, I cannot be held accountable for those who read on.

! SPOILERS FOR ALL YOU GOOGLE-HAPPY ANIME VIEWERS !

Summary:

Shinkurou’s reckless actions in order to save the cock teasing Murasaki have made everyone a little worried. Benika continues to defy the laws of physics in her snowmobile of a car while Yuuno and Ginko remain at school waiting for a call from him as if it is the hour after their first date. Everyone has good reason to wory about Shinkurou. He’s wandering into the belly of the beast but has forgotten all about Murasaki, for he has stopped off at the Kuhouin kitchen in order to sharpen up on his common thief skills. Outside, Lin spots Benika and the recently awoken and perfectly fine Yayoi. She catches up to the two and proceeds to cheat with her car too.

Shinkurou finally manages to get to the outers of the Inner Sanctuary once again, but this time he has met his most formidable opponent yet, an older man with no combat training whatsoever, Murasaki’s father! After hearing about how crummy Shinkurou is for not understanding Kuhouin practices, we see Benika crash into the Inner Sanctuary halls followed by Lin. Lin crashes her car and is met by Yayoi who wants to try out her new skill. This isn’t really a new skill but rather an uber rigged display of why Yayoi is in the wrong anime. Apparently, after sparing and watching Shinkurou, she was able to pick up on the Houzuki-ryuu fighting style (Sharingan much?!?). Who’d have thought that this fighting style was the one thing that could beat Ryuuji and Lin.

After Shinkurou and Yayoi lay waste to their enemies, there is more talk to Murasaki about leaving. Then Renjou and Kazuko come in to tell them that they will not be leaving, Murasaki will stay and stuff, yadda yadda yadda. Obviously, Shinkurou can do aas he pleases at this point. After s confusing exchange of words, a mean knife attack on Benika by Ryuuji, and a flippin awesome Houzuki horn slice n’ dice attack by Shinkurou, it is settled that Murasaki will get to leave the Inner Sanctuary by her own choice. However, she will stay in the Kuhouin estate in order to prove that the whole Sanctuary thing was stupid. Renjou decides to preserve the family and dissolve the Sanctuary at the same time. The one good thing about this is that he tells Shinkurou that once she loses that he can come take her. Meaning, Muraski wins either way. She lives outside the Sanctuary with the father she never got to bond with and if they decide to stick her back in, she gets to live with the boy she came to love.

And so we come to our happy ending. Or is it really a happy ending? Muraski may get to sit in daddy’s lap and hear stories about Souju before she overdosed, but Murasaki sure didn’t get to ask Shinkurou the most important question, whether he loved her or not. We get to see our answer when we get a glimpse at Shinkurou’s pedophile dream of walking hand and hand with Murasaki in a field of violets.

Thoughts:

I must say this this last episode had some serious drama and some kick ass action. Even though the drama was VEEEEERY drawn out and the action was EXTREEEEMELY short. I loved it. The whole bit about cars on snow was too much for me because the show has been so true to the physics of fighting. So why exactly was it too much trouble to research driving a bit?

The other thing would be that the Houzuki’s fighting style was utter suck up until that point. Yayoi could stop it easily in a sparring session, but Lin couldn’t stop it in real combat. Oh well. I don’t really care. If they hadn’t had won, then I would have been forced to withdraw my love towards blissmo (idk why, but I just would have).

No matter what anyone says Murasaki may not be a doll in the Inner Sanctuary anymore, but she is a Kuhouin doll nonetheless.
