Deadman Wonderland Manga – Chapter 07

Another brilliant chapter where we finally get to see the kick-ass side of Ganta!
Summary: Tamaki gives a brief introduction of what the Carnival Corpse is about, which is the greatest entertainment of all Deadman Wonderland. It is a fight to death battle between two deadmans as a means of experimenting on their limits. Tamaki reassures Ganta that even if he may day during the fight, his body will still be preserved. He opens a cabinet to expose someone’s eye and a hand contained in glass bottles. Makina attempts to visit the Director but two bodyguards hold her up. Inside the room which the Director is supposed to be in, a man is lying on a bed singing a song about a woodpecker. He looks very fragile and his arms are so bony that the outline of his veins pop out. Meanwhile, Senji is doing a few push-ups to warm up for his battle with Ganta. Shiro complains to You that they have to go back and You agrees only because he wants to get his CP cards back. You reassures Shiro that Ganta has that ability so he’ll be fine, but Shiro complains that Ganta has always been weak. Afraid but determined not to lose, Ganta enters the stage while Senji appears on the other side. The battle begins and Ganta uses too much of his blood that he slowly begins to lose focus. The spectators, including Tamaki, continue to comment during the fight while “No Name” seems to be very interested in the battle rather than discussing it with his co-workers. Ganta is wounded a lot and a nurse who is with Tamaki explains that Ganta has a red stone identical to the ones that were located around Tokyo. Ganta has a flashback of the time when he got hurt really bad and started crying. Shiro was there and she didn’t want to play with him any more because he was too weak. A woman tells Shiro that Ganta’s just a regular kid. In reality, Shiro tells You that even though Ganta is weak, the good thing about him is that he always gets up. Continuing from the flashback, Ganta stands back up and presently in the battle with Senji, Ganta grabs Senji’s ankle and gets up. Ganta manages to defeat Senji by attacking him dead center in the heart after creating a decoy by destroying the speakers above them.
Note: Like D.Gray-man (manga version) there are so many freaking awesome pictures each chapter, so I’m also gonna do the whole “Scene of the Chapter” thing with Deadman Wonderland. And for this chapter’s? Obviously, this image is the best! There’s so much determination in Ganta’s eyes that I can see it clearly through this image. He’s bloodied, and omg, I just love this picture. There were other ones, but this one was definitely the winner.

AWESOMENESS!
Thoughts: I loved this chapter too! I thought the part about Ganta always getting back up was just brilliant with the flashback, Shiro’s speech and the battle. It all happened at once and was pretty confusing to write about, so I hope I made sense in the summary. Anyway, Deadman Wonderland never seems to disappoint me. Each chapter is just as brilliant as the others, or should I say, gets better and better. I love the artwork and the expressions the characters show, especially with the eyes. I also love the character designs and I think Tamaki continues to get freakier every time we see him. Shiro was a bit mean saying that Ganta was weak, lawls, but I also thought it was friggin’ hilarious ‘cos she was just stating the facts. Oh, I really like You, he’s so awesome even though he hasn’t done anything great yet. I was wondering about the whole blood thing and I thought the mangaka was never gonna explain about losing too much blood. How wrong was I after reading this chapter. The “No Name” man somehow interests me as well as the twin-looking bodyguards and the Director. I just can’t sit down and wait for the next chapter, so I hope the scanlators will release the next one soon!
