Double Arts Cancelled: You Don’t Really Think I’ll Do A Write Up For The Final Chapters, Do You?

My reaction to that absurd decision.

So if you didn’t know (and if you were a fan of the series, you should’ve) DA got cancelled by Shounen Jump a few weeks ago. I’m still kind of irritated, but nowhere near as much as I was before, and I really can’t be bothered to dredge up all that anger to complain about this idiocy. So, courtesy of my own blog, you get a mini-rant!

For a bit more of an objective look at the series, take a look at FFVIIKnight’s final impressions.

The fucking end.

SERIOUSLY?!

Yeah, so Double Arts just ends at Chapter 23 apparently, just as the story was starting to get a bit deeper and more interesting with the backstory of the Gazelle and whatever happened to Andie Frau and all that. Too bad we may never get to see a continuation of a great series, I’ll just have to hope the mangaka can go to another magazine other than Shounen Jump YOU SONS OF BITCHES. Apparently it was the lowest rated manga in the magazine, which is a shame, as there are worse series out there at the moment (I’m looking at you Naruto). It doesn’t even feel like the story got a chance to develop and the action and art was great on a whole and the whole thing was just brimming with potential. And there also needed to be more Sui action.

So hopefully we’ll see some sign of DA in the future but other than that all I can say is:

Fuck you, Weekly Shounen Jump.

Personally I didn’t take it too bad.I was shocked but nothing serious…while the story is interesting,it just never had the loyal mindless fanbase of Japanese teens worshiping it(essential to survival). Most of these zombies grew up reading the big 3(One Piece,Naturo,Bleach) so naturally they wouldn’t favor some newbie no matter how good it may have the potential to be.Unless some of the these writers end their manga, the newbies are doomed to a pathetic existence on the WSJ at best. Its all business :|

I’m with you guys on this one, I thought there was alot of potential and the idea of a fighting/dancing style was cute. They cut this one too fast.

I adore Double arts and was extremely upset when it was canceled. It was original and fun to read. i wanted to see more of their fights having to hold hands all the time. It was funny and I loved the character. I hope the author finds some way to continue it
